***ENGINEERING SERVICE LEAD***
We are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced, highly motivated and ‘hands on’ Engineering Service Lead with a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification and plant maintenance/fault finding experience. The purpose of this role is to support a team of Service Engineers with all on-site service requests whilst maintaining the general administrative aspects of the team.
Note that this is a 39 hour a week remote role requiring nationwide travel
Salary £40-45K depending on experience + benefits
Key responsibilities for the Engineering Service Lead include,

  • Actively promote services and develop business plans to ensure security and growth
  • Define, deliver, exceed sales and profit targets
  • Review market conditions and competition and set pricing accordingly
  • Review, complete and submit customer tenders ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
  • Visit customer sites, carry out surveys, compile estimates, prepare and issue quotations
  • Select equipment and materials to provide the best technical solution for the customer
  • Carry out contract review of received purchase orders
  • Organise and manage labour and materials to ensure the timely completion of all contracts
  • Prepare management reports and forecasts
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels held by engineers, carry out stock takes
  • Provide leadership and support to employees, assess training needs for staff development
  • Participate in the selection and recruitment of additional or replacement personnel

The ideal Engineering Service Lead would need the following,

  • A mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
  • Previous experience within a related industry,ideally in a on-site service role
  • Experience in managing on-site service teams
  • Plant maintenance/fault finding experience
  • Previous relative experience as a mobile service engineer
  • Built in sense of urgency, ability to deliver in a fast, effective manner
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills essential
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Confident MS office skills
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation, steam boilers or IEE wiring regulations 18th edition advantageous

Full training given on company products and equipment to be worked on
This Engineering Service Lead position would suit a practical, flexible, ‘hands on’, self-managed person with bags of initiative and the ability to accomplish tasks through cross functional teams.
