Transport Administrator

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful logistics and warehouse organisation situated near Bordon, Hampshire. Our client is seeking an experienced highly customer focused Transport Administrator to join their team on a permanent fulltime basis. The role will support the Operations and Transport team and could be suitable for an individual who has a minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in the industry, ideally within logistics, pallet networks or container logistics. Duties include: –

Administrative support to the Operations Manager

Follow transport office administration procedures at all times

Respond to telephone and email queries in a professional timely manner, pass messages to relevant personnel

Keep Line Manager informed of any irregularities

Ensure that all transport queries are handled in an efficient and consistent manner, in accordance with customer requirements.

Undertake routing of local delivery fleet

Liaise with customers, driver and other departments

Person Specification:

Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel/Outlook

Demonstrate proven administrative experience

Experience of working within a transport office environment

Good local and national geographical knowledge

Experience of routing desirable but not essential

Organised with a methodical approach to tasks

Ability to consistently follow set company procedures

Confident telephone manner

Effective communicator oral and written

The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines

Able to work from own initiative and also as part of a team

Motivated, Pro-active and reliable
